In the beginning there was nothing but a huge void between between (colour: red)[fire] and (colour: blue)[ice]. During the (colour:purple)[creation of the Cosmos], (colour: red)[fire] and (colour:blue)[ice] collided and from it arose a giant named ''Ymir''. This giant, being a hermaphrodite, reproduced in his sleep. As the ice further melted, a cow appeared. This cow then licked away more ice and oncovered Buri, the first ''God''. Buri's son Bor had children with the giant Bestla. Their half giant half god children were ''Odin'' and his brothers. To speed things up: the brothers killed the giant ''Ymir'' and created ''Midgard'', or earth, from his corpse. They also create the first humans from two pieces of driftwood (beat that 'eva made from the rib of adam'). So now, here we are. In the //Viking Age//. Midgard is full of vikings that are raiding, sailing, farming and fighting for their lives. The gods have their own mystical tales about their adventures and lifes. Now the question is... who would you want to be? [[Screw humanity, I want to be a god! ->Gods ]] [[Turn me into a viking! -> Vikings ]]You want to be a //God//! You want to have powers and you want to be more important than humans. So you are... (either: "[[Thor]]", "[[Loki]]") You're a viking in, let's say, 840 A.D. You're young, but not a child anymore. You're life is full of potential as you're physically fit and enthousiastic to finally make your own choices. Now, you're parents are farmers although your father is a well-known warrior. You're still quite young and don't have any battle experience. Nevertheless, you have been practising a lot with your father and siblings throughout your youth. It's time to choose what the next step in your life will be. A group of warriors is planning to go [[raiding ->Raiding]] land inwards. Another group is going [[sailing ->Sailing]] to discover new lands (and possibly raid them later). Or you could take your time easy for now and stay on the [[farm ->Farming]] with your family. The earl decides where you all will go. This year he can either play it safe, and raid a settlement known to be weak. Or, he can take a risk and send you to raid in a settlement further away which has stronger defenses and warriors. He decides... (either: "[[Continue ->safe raid]]", "[[Continue ->risky raid]]")Adventure call you! You want to see the open seas and explore lands you haven't seen before! Together with other warriors you step aside a ship and get ready to leave. Although a little nervous, you are excited for this adventure. (either: "[[Yes let's go! ->storm]]", "[[Yes let's go! ->arrive]]")Not much adventure for you this year. You will mainly farm and trade, whilst waiting upon the return of all the warriors to see their treasures and hear their the tales of their adventures. [[Continue ->Next step in life]] ..to play it safe! Last year's didn't bring much success and therefore the earl needs some easy treasure this time. You and the other warriors will go to the settlement and find, as promised, little resistance. This also means that the treasures you found aren't very big. [[You returns to your own settlement ->Next step in life]]Your earl wants bigger treasures and has trust in the strength of his warriors! This excites you as you are one of them. You shall do your very best to prove yourself worthy. After all, you can't wait to dine with Odin in Valhalla. You arrive at the settlement to find its warriors ready to battle you. Both parties form their shield walls and prepare to fight. The other warriors are big and seems experienced by the look of their scars. Altough Valhalla is near, you're not sure you're ready to go. (either: "[[Yeah. Sort of shitting myself, I'll play it cool in the back ->Miserable death]]", "[[Yeah. Sort of shitting myself, I'll play it cool in the back ->Live without pride]]") (either: "[[No I am! I shall fight proud and fierce, without any fear. I am here to make Odin proud ->Honourable death]]", "[[No I am! I shall fight proud and fierce, without any fear. I am here to make Odin proud ->Live honourable]]")You're back home and an experience richer. Life continues as usual with much beer and fight practice. A year later it's time to make a decision again. What will you do? [[I'm done fooling around and will settle down on the farm and live a peaceful life ->Farmer life]] [[I will join the warriors who plan on raiding land inwards ->Raiding]] [[I want to discover new lands, so I will join the warriors who plan on crossing the water ->Sailing]] You have decided to settle down and live the farmer life. A bit boring tbh, but fine. Happy living with your cows! And sheep! And stuff.. You coward. You died anyways, but no you don't get to go to Valhalla. The Valkyries looked upon you with disgust and moved along as they chose the //real// brave warriors to dine with Odin this evening. An dishounerable death. Way to go with your viking life. *THE END*Okay so you lived. Congrats. The other warriors aren't so sure about you anymore though. You showed weak behaviour and that's not welcome in a shield wall. Tip for next time: ''Show some guts'' (maybe even literally), otherwise you'll die a miserable death and the Valkyries won't take you to Valhalla. [[Continue ->Win]]You fought bravely and with heart. Nevertheless, an axe pierces your body and ends the beating of your heart. (Gruesome, I know. Hard to imagine sitting in that lazy chair of yours, isn't it.) While your last breath leaves your body and you feel reality slip away, a figure bows over your corpse. You feel alive once more as the Valkyries guide you towards the gates of Valhalla where this evening you shall dine with Odin and share stories of great adventures and battles with the other warriors. You fought bravely and with all the strength in your body. Finally, after much blood shed you and the other warriors from your settlement prevail. Your bravery has been noticed, it shall be compared to Thor's skills in future stories of this great adventure. [[Continue ->Win]] You make your way into the settlement and take all treasure you can find. Proud of what you and the other warriors have achieved it's time to return to your own settlement and celebrate your victory with as much beer as you can handle. And more. [[Continue ->Next step in life]] You ship crosses a horrible storm! Strong winds, high waves and rainstorms drive the ships apart from each other and all warriors have to hold on for their life. Literally. You and the other warriors call out to Thor to calm the skies and put down his hammer. In front of you a big wave emerges, big enough to turn the whole ship upside down.... end then... (either: "[[Just tell me what then ->Die in sea]]", "[[Just tell me what then ->survive]]", "[[Just tell me what then ->survive]]") After being on the water for a very long time, your ship decides to release the raven you brought along. The raven will indicate if land is near. Your release the raven. It does not return, this means land is near! All men cheer and you start to row in the direction the row flew off to. You're at a beach. The second you step off the boat you sit down and enjoy the feeling of land beneath you once again. You start to explore the lands and find a silent settlement. What do you do? [[Attack! I want wealth and fame! ->raid]]Sadly, the storm waged by Thor was too strong for the ship you were on.Apparently, your travels weren't favoured by the gods and it cost you your life. The ship broke and slowly you and all the other warriors sunk to the depth of the waters. Good try though. *THE END*The storm was heavy and it has taken it's toll. But not you, you survived. The gods favoured you and gave you strenght to live through the storm. Your travels continue. [[Continue ->arrive]] So you and the other warriors decide to attack the settlement, you engage and move towards it to find it filled with unarmed men with bald heads and brown robes. What do you do? [[Show compassion and spare their lives ->Not really]] [[I don't care, let's attack ->attack]]Not very viking like. You companions decide to attack and therefore so should you. [[Oh okay ->attack]] You attack and kill many opponents. After you're victory you take all the treasures you can find and take them back to the ships. Time to go home again. [[Continue ->Next step in life]] Thor, being an honourable warrior, is the ''God of Thunder''. He wields the hammer ''Mjöllnir'', meaning lightning. Being the brave warrior that he is, he protects the ''Aesir'' and their stronghold ''Asgard'' from giants. His main enemy however, is [[''Jormungand'', the Midgard circling sea serpent -> Thor and Jormungand]]. [[But how did he die? -> Thor in Ragnarok]] [[Nevermind I don't want to be a god anymore. -> Vikings ]] Loki is known as the trickster of the gods. A rather selfish figure, Loki helps the gods or the giants whenever suits him best. One of the most known tales of him are about his role in [[the death of Baldur]]. He is father to a number of creatures, among which are Jormungand, Thor's greatest enemy, and Hel, goddess of the underworld. [[So what happened to him? -> Loki in Ragnarok]] [[I don't want to be a god anymore. -> Vikings ]] Baldur was the beloved son of Odin. When his death was foreseen by a seeress, Baldur's mother Frigg went full length to protect her precious son. He was protected from all weapons, which turned into a game. All through all things at Baldur and shared laughter when once again the object thrown bounced off the god. Yet Loki, mischievous as he was, was determined to find his weakness. In disguise he managed to get information from his Frigg regarding Baldur's one weakness: Mistletoe. Loki created a spear from mistletoe, after which he handed it to a blind god. The blind god, upon his turn, threw the spear at Baldur who fell down and died to the shock of all. He was given another chance at life by Hel, goddess of death, on the condition that no one objected considering how loved he was. Yet once again, Loki in disguise acted as a giantess who did not feel sorrow for Baldur's death. Therefore, Baldur was not brought back to life but condemned to Hel. [[Bastard! So what happened to Loki? -> Loki in Ragnarok]] [[Sneeky, but kind of cool... So what happened to Loki then? -> Loki in Ragnarok]] **RAGNAROK** The end of all times has come!!! A great winter happens, making humans beg for food, killing others, and dying from overall misery. The sun, moon and starts dissapear. All monsters unleash and all falls apart. Firegiants are suddenly involved as well!!! A huge battle between Gods and those horrible creatures erupts!!! Whilst Ragnarok is breaking lose, Loki is freed from his chains. He is ready to take on the gods in the final battle. He faces Heimdall, watcher of Asgard. Finally, intense fighting and struggling, the two bring each other to their ends. Both Heimdall and Loki find their death in Ragnarok. Actually, so does pretty much everyone else. *THE END*To make a long story a bit shorter, Thor had to go fishing with the giant Hymir because he ate too much. Looking for bigger prey, Thor rowed out the boat too far for Hymir's liking. Reason for this was the giant serpent Jormungand. The serpent being Thor's greatest enemy, he rowed on. Of course, Thor caught Jormungand on its line with the venom of the serpent leaking from its mouth where the hook was situated. Thor putting in all effort to get the serpent and reach for his hammer was interupted by the stressed out Giant who cut through the line. This made Thor furious //(for good reason, as you'll find out)// and he threw the giant overboard. He then took Hymir's catch, two wales, and went back to land. [[So what happened later with [[Thor and Jormungand -> Thor in Ragnarok]] **RAGNAROK** The end of all times has come!!! A great winter happens, making humans beg for food, killing others, and dying from overall misery. The sun, moon and starts dissapear. All monsters unleash and all falls apart. Firegiants are suddenly involved as well!!! A huge battle between Gods and those horrible creatures erupts!!! Thor engages in battle with the huge venomous serpet Jormungand! As they struggle and harm each, Thor gives the unnaturally big snake a final blow with his hammer. Jormungand falls down in agony and dies. Thor, rejoicing in killing his greatest enemy, takes some steps. However, the venom he sustained in battle finally brings him down, until his last breath leaves his body. Yes, he is dead. Just like pretty much everyone else after ragnarok. *THE END*
